When stress + overwhelm hit:

The sensations of overwhelm itself isn’t the problem. 

What you do when overwhelm shows up determines whether your nervous system settles or spirals further into stress.

Most women were never taught how to be with uncomfortable emotions & sensations.

So when overwhelm hits, they automatically:

  • overthink
  • rush
  • shut down
  • procrastinate
  • distract themselves
  • people please
  • try to control everything


These are emotional reactions driven by survival responses.

Your nervous system learned that overwhelm feels unsafe, so it immediately moves into protection mode.

That protection can look like:

Fight
Irritability, frustration, controlling, snapping

Flight
Overthinking, rushing, urgency, doing more

Freeze
Exhaustion, procrastination, numbness, shutdown

Fawn
People pleasing, overcommitting, managing everyone else’s emotions

The more often you react from these patterns, the more overwhelm starts running your life.

The goal of living healthy & vitas isn’t to never feel stressed again.

The goal is building the capacity to move through stress without getting stuck in it or without it letting consume you.

That’s what nervous system regulation actually is.
